the save act and voter fraud

issue

I support the SAVE Act because I believe American elections should be decided only by American citizens. That’s not an extreme position, it’s the basic standard of self-government. If we’re going to have a republic, then we have to be serious about who is allowed to participate in choosing its leaders.

From my perspective, this isn’t about expanding government power, but about clearly defining and protecting the integrity of the vote. Citizenship matters. It is the membership requirement for participation in our political system, and that boundary should be real, not theoretical.

The SAVE Act simply requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections. It doesn’t change who is eligible, it just ensures the system accurately reflects that eligibility. In something as important as elections, I believe clarity and trust are essential.

I also don’t see election security and liberty as opposites. A free society depends on people believing their vote is legitimate and protected. Without that trust, confidence in self-government breaks down.

At the end of the day, I want a system where every lawful vote counts, every ineligible vote is prevented, and Americans can have full confidence that Americans are the ones deciding America’s future.
